Inception of Sapphire Engineering Consultants

Introduction

Sapphire Engineering Consultants was founded in 2012 with a focus on providing technical guidance to clients struggling with legacy systems, service challenges, and budget constraints by sourcing economical, practical solutions. The firm was established by Ananth Iyer, a Computer Engineer with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and over two decades of industry experience, supported by a team of domain experts.

In 2013, Sapphire secured projects in Tanzania, East Africa, for security system commissioning of ELV systems, and between 2013 and 2015 successfully executed multiple projects from design engineering through commissioning and handover. These projects spanned diverse sectors including Oil and Gas, Ports, Airports, Mines, and Banking. From 2016 to 2018, the firm undertook a major design and engineering assignment covering 19 systems for a large Oil and Gas refinery project in the Sultanate of Oman.

The team has hands-on experience with leading industry brands such as Gunnebo, Tyco, Johnson Controls, R&M, Automatic Systems, FAAC, Pelco, Bosch, Panasonic, Mobotix, Hikvision, Cisco, HP, Dell, Industronic, Duraline, Legrand, Samsung, ABB, among others. They have also collaborated with global consulting firms including Petrofac, Mott Macdonald, Worley Parsons, Deerns, and others across the Middle East and Africa. Promoter Ananth Iyer has contributed to prestigious projects for NHPC, NTPC, Indian Railways, DRDO, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, AAI, and NDA in India, as well as for QP, QDVC, QF in Qatar, ONGC Videsh in Sudan, and several projects in Bahrain, UAE, and Oman. Today, Sapphire Engineering Consultants is increasingly focused on digital offerings, bringing cutting-edge technological know-how to its clients while striving to keep solutions and services cost-effective.
